What To Do:

Have your child work on accuracy in counting forwards and backwards by having your child count any set of stairs forwards as your child goes up, 1,2,3,4,etc.), then backwards as your child comes back down, 10,9,8,7,6,etc.). You can help with number identification by placing an index card with the corresponding number on each step so your child can read the numbers while counting.
