Phone Call

Target Age:

Middle Four-Year Old

Materials You Will Need:

telephone

What To Do:

Teach your child about phone manners by giving a real life, (but pre-planned), experience. Find a willing friend or relative to receive a call, then have your child dial and ask to speak to the person called. Your child will need to tell the person on the line his/her name. Your child will also need to know how to end the conversation. This is a skill that takes practice, but it's much more satisfying for a long distance relative to talk to a child who understands the art of phone conversation.
