Dialing the Phone

index cards, old phone
What To Do:
As your child's understanding of numeral recognition grows, it may time for your child to understand how to dial phone numbers. Locate a phone that no longer works or unplug a working one. Show your child several phone numbers written on index cards to practice dialing, such as his/her own home number, your cell number, or the number of a grandparent. Observe your child's phone skills and imaginary conversations.
Variations:
Have your child call a family member on the ''real'' phone and practice conversation skills with that person.
