Table Manners

Target Age:

Early Three-Year Old

What To Do:

Teaching manners to children is an ongoing process. At mealtime, discuss and demonstrate the way to ask for more food, decline a food that is being served, or respond when food is served by using the words, "Please," "No Thank You," and "Thank You." . Role playing is a fun way to get your point across. Pretend that you're the child and your child is the adult and you're being offered a food that you don't like or have never tried. Have fun with this lesson! Positive reinforcement tends to have more lasting effects on children.
