Pouring Plus

Target Age:

Early Three-Year Old

Materials You Will Need:

two cups or small pitchers, water, tray, sponge

What To Do:

Pouring provides a wonderful opportunity to develop your child's fine motor skills. Fill one cup or pitcher with water. Demonstrate how to slowly pour the water from one container to the next, cleaning up any drips that occur. Invite your child to do the same. The tray will limit any major spilling that may occur. This skill takes a great deal of practice, so let your child pour as long as he/she is interested.
