toy hammer, small block of styrofoam, golf tees

What To Do:

Let your child enjoy working on carpentry skills by using a block of styrofoam, a more forgiving surface than wood. Show your child how to hold each golf tee with his/her sub dominant hand while tapping it with the hammer held in the dominant hand. Your child can use the pincer grasp to remove the tees or make a pattern as part of the "work". (The pincer grasp is using the pointer finger and thumb, a pre-writing skill).
